Greenbriar Cove is out highway 321 going away from Gatlinburg towards Cosby and a great place to visit for the day especially if you like to go tubing or trout fishing. Ramsey Cascades is one of the waterfalls within the park well worth hiking to, but it is a difficult eight mile roundtrip hike gaining over 2000 feet in four miles.

Just go past the Ranger Station and turn left at the bridge. Drive to the end of the road to catch the trail. Pictures of the waterfall itself are in Gallery 10. Below are pictures of the cove and photos taken along the trail including the bridges and some of the old growth trees that caught my eye. The two old growth poplar trees in the Ramsey Casades 0007 - Spring photo below are close to 20 feet around at the base and top out between 80 and 100 feet high or even higher.

The steepness of this creek ought to give you and idea how steep the trail is, and yes that is snow.
