The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has many waterfalls. Some are a short distance from the road or trailhead in like Laurel Falls and Grotto Falls. Laurel Falls is unique in that it is handicap accessible with a paved walking path all the way to the falls and Grotto Falls is also the only falls you can walk behind.

While there are more falls and cascades within the interior of the park that for me personally may require hiking in and spending at least one night, these large format landscape and portrait waterfall photographs below are all easily within one days walk and represent a real milestone for myself and the website, because they are all the major falls in the park with the exception of Mingo falls located in Cherokee. The hikes to some of these falls are rated moderate to even strenuous hikes, so allow plenty of time, pack plenty of water, dress appropriately, and use your best judgment before setting out to hike them, especially Ramsey Cascades.
